Civilization at large hunt down a people who can voluntarily turn into dragons at night, but as these “WereDragons” multiply and become a nation, the hunt evolves into an epic war. A boy, Staggs, who is born in the midst of war, is unaware that he is to fulfill the “Peacemaker Prophecy”. He, in fact, isn’t even aware that he’s a WereDragon, because a couple who found him in a crater raised him and sheltered him from the world.
However, with the help of Skipper, an adventurous tomboy and eventual romantic interest, Staggs learns of the outside world of Aresia and grows toward the potential of becoming the one foretold to end the war.

Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein was a true story, but the monster continued to live beyond when her story ends. He had offspring. In present day, they are now an underground civilization known as the Brethren. Bruce Rogers is one of these creatures hiding in exile from the rest of the Brethren.
